Many believe that saving money feels much better than earning it, and I am not an exception. People try to save money by dressing in cheaper clothes, going to more affordable restaurants, and cutting down their expenses by limiting themselves in every way possible.

I, however, decided to take a different route. Medicines are the one thing that we cannot do without, especially if you’re as old as I am. And there is a great way to save on medicines that not many people know about.

It is actually quite simple. Instead of buying brand name medications, I simply buy generic drugs. By doing so, I save at least $400 per month (yes, I’m that old, and, no, I’m not terminally ill). Unfortunately, doctors don’t care about the well-being of their patient and do not tell them about the alternative, more affordable versions of the drug that they are prescribing. Moreover, in countries such as the United States and Canada, it is impossible to get a drug without a prescription. Thus, you simply have to accept what the doctor has prescribed you no matter what the cost. A Canadian Health Care Mall will not sell you any drug you want if you just waltz into it with no prescription in your hand.

My incredible savings

Before I found out about generic drugs, I would spend roughly $550 in a local Canadian pharmacy. Viagra was also madly expensive which was a bummer (I may be old, but that doesn’t stop me from having some fun). Now, however, I buy my all my medicines including Viagra online. I cannot comprehend how modern doctors can be so cruel. They diagnose us with various illnesses, scare us to death by telling us about possible consequences, and then they prescribe medications that we cannot afford while there are cheaper alternatives on the market. If this is not cruelty, I don’t know what is.
